Carers UK presses for anti-discrimination legislation for carers

Carers suffer all kinds of discrimination - at work, in the way that services are delivered and in health. Carers UK is putting evidence before the Government's review of equality legislation and calling for a new duty on public bodies to promote equality between carers and people without caring responsibilites. They have already sucessfully campaigned fo this right in Northern Ireland.

Unfortunately, the Government's consultation document reveals they don't think that carers are discriminated against, so we must make a strong case. The consultation closes on 3 September. So you still have the opportunity to respond and write to your MP and AM.

You can read the consultation document at the Communities and Local Government website. more...
If you would like to respond to the consultation you can email kate.hepher@communities.gsi.gov.uk
